Back in High School I was skinny. I was the captain of the championship winning cross country team, I ran track, and I was on the soccer, wrestling, and swim teams. I was in amazing shape. I ran a 4 minute 34 second mile. I was fast and strong, agile and flexible. I could do 80 pushups without stopping. I could do 75 sit-ups in a minute. I could literally run for hours without stopping and not even think about it. I was in amazing shape. I climbed mountains, I mountain biked, I rock climbed, I went on adventures.

In an opera performance July, 2010
I now am a professional operatic tenor and I look like it. I am what everybody pictures when they think of opera singers. I have a gut, a double chin, huge love handles, and man boobs. I have high blood-pressure, no energy ever, and I can't even run a mile without stopping several times, let alone in under 5 minutes. I eat all of the time, and what I eat is bad for me. I have also worked as a professional chef and that didn't help me either. I love food and I can make dishes that are out of this world, but that are horrible for you. I have developed horrible eating habits and lousy exercise discipline. Time and time again I have started a diet or joined a gym, only to fizzle out after a month or two. But I never was really committed. I never wrote down what I ate. I never planned out my workouts. I never really had any kind of plan, and I definitely didn't have any sort of accountability at all.

WELL NO MORE!!!
Today, December 1st 2010 Is my last day of doing nothing. This is my place to be accountable to myself if to nobody else. I am going to plan my menus and workouts for the next day every night. I am going to record everything that I put in my mouth and my workouts each day. I am also going to share recipes that I develop that taste amazing, but that are really good for you. I hope you will check in often to see my progress.
